Jim Thompson House and Museum-Bangkok

We took the skytrain this morning to the Jim Thompson House in Bangkok. It is a group of 6 authentic, traditional Thai buildings/houses that he worked to save and move here during the 1950s. He was also responsible for marketing Thai silk worldwide.I don't have any photos of the place because they do not allow photos! So, here a few photos of us getting there by ferry and eating lunch at the cafe there. The white dish with the little blue and yellowish ball things are the dessert we shared; flavored rice dumplings in a coconut milk soup.. cold...The little "house" is a Spirit House in the grounds. They are all over everywhere and all look different..........Bulletin Bulletin Bulletin.room .......just got word from John who just came in the that the KING of Thailand is in the hotel tonight !!!!!!!! WE are going across the river to see a traditonal Koan Thai performance
but John reported that there was a small squad of Thai army marching casually through the lobby and there are Thai secret service everywhere. All traffic in neighborhood is stopped.........
We hear that the occasion is called "Love for Our King' and is in one of the ballrooms. Not sure what that really means, but the excitement is everywhere here.......will report more soon (ish).
John said that there is more security than when Dick Cheney went for a haircut in DC and that is saying something.
