2 weeks to trip

This morning I am starting the oral typhoid vaccine. All the others were shots, except malaria, which we will take on the trip. Vaccines, visas, so much to think of. Not complaining, though...

Hey there, Dec. 17, Dr. Montague Blunden III here in DC says my (badly) fractured foot bone
is starting to heal so I am released from the Big Boot! He says I really won't be doing anything to retard the healing process.  The bad news is that it will take until next Halloween to be completely healed, but I can walk on it and will use a cane to shoo away dogs and little children (haha) and maybe give the cane away in Cambodia. I have some comfortable shoes,
some emergency painkiller and a good attitude, so what are we waiting for? Let's get this party started!

3 weeks from tomorrow. We'll be on our way. It will be the Epiphany - fortuitous coincidence? The Magi did travel on that day, so I think it bodes well. Today, Julie has her appointment with the doctor, for her foot. We all hope that the news is good.

Countdown

In 25 days we will be stepping on the plane to take us on our adventure. I'm awed and overwhelmed at the thought - and yet strangely confident and relaxed.

I love what you've done with the blog Julie. How are you progressing with your motor skills? It's crazy how things can change in an instant. It's a warm rainy day in Chicago, and I'm wondering what the weather is like in Hong Kong. Is the weather ap you put on the blog working?

I am lying in bed with my leg and foot in a splint awaiting a cast on Monday and Voting from a wheelchair on Tuesday! Luckily, I have 8 weeks to walk again before our big trip and four weeks
before my daughter's wedding in Mexico.........For the Record, I am going to say that I feel GREAT! Off the record, I recommend checking that one's leg isn't "asleep" before standing up and breaking into a full run! haha. Julie
Our trip is 66 days away. Julie broke a bone in her foot yesterday, but she will go on. Nurse that foot Julie. We've got lots of territory to cover.
Friends and family, we're counting on you for support, ideas, suggestions. Feel free to comment
